GETTING THERE & AROUND
Victoria Falls International is the closest airport for this itinerary. The easiest route from Singapore or Kuala Lumpur is on Qatar Airways with two stops in Doha and Johannesburg. The comfortable Cessna planes of Safari Logistics connect all the destinations in our itinerary.
Singapore and Malaysia passport holders do not need a visa if travelling to Zimbabwe or Zambia. At immigration, make sure that passports have at least 6 months validity and return flights are already booked or you have enough cash to buy a return ticket.
The economic and political situation in Zimbabwe can be unstable; keep up to date with information at gov.
WHEN TO GO
Game viewing is at its best during the dry season of May to October, when animals congregate around waterholes, but Zimbabwe is otherwise a year-round destination. The rainy season lasts from December to February.
Safari specialist and Beyond has been operating in Africa for over 25 years. Its philosophy is to support both wildlife and local communities through low-impact, ethical tourism and it has a number of conservation projects running in the continent, including ones designed to tackle rhino poaching.
It can organise bespoke itineraries throughout Zimbabwe, with trip-of-a-lifetime accommodation in unique camps and characterful hotels. Its eight-day Best of Zimbabwe itinerary covers Victoria Falls, Hwange National Park and the ancient city of Bulawayo, and costs from US$2,814 per person. An itinerary that closely follows that in our story costs from US$6,055 and lasts 10 days, with flights included. It can also be combined with trips to the neighbouring countries of Zambia and South Africa.
