Skagit Valley Tulip Fields, Washington
One of the most incredible ways to celebrate the end of winter and the arrival of spring is to attend a flower festival. And while Washington, DC, may be known for its cherry blossoms, Washington STATE, specifically the Skagit Valley, is known for its tulip fields.
Hundreds of thousands of visitors from over 85 countries and all of our states show up for the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival each year in the entire month of April to snap some shots of hundreds of acres of tulips and an equal amount of daffodils.
The sight of over a million brightly colored flowers is among the state’s most popular attractions. Even though many other flowers may get a lot of attention, there’s nothing quite like seeing entire fields of colorful tulips blooming!

Strange, I’ve heard of them all and been to a couple.
I am the youngest of seven children and my parents always talk about being at Carlsbad caverns. Last year I was there and I went down to them because I could not remember when I came out. I called my sister and I said did you go on that trip with the folks And I asked when it was. It was five years before I was born.
I absolutely love the place. I spent six hours down in the caverns. They are absolutely amazing!

Grew up in New Mexico & went to Carlsbad Caverns many times. Always amazing & spectacular! One of my favorite places!!!
I have been to the tulip fields several times in my life, they are gorgeous and more beautiful each year. Before the tulips come, the fields are full of daffodils and after the tulips come and gone the fields are full of irises. You have 3 months of beautiful flowers.

I was lucky, I got to see Hamilton Pool when it was a on a private ranch about 50 years ago with Dr. Bill Green from Austin. Back then the Hippies & Texas Longhorns were sneaking in to go skinny dipping. Walked all around underneath the Limestone overhang , followed the stream all the way out of the pool for about a mile to where it flows into the Perdnales river. Now I believe it’s owned and operated by the city of Austin—and crowded. Beautiful!
I live on the southern Oregon coast, so of course I have seen Yachts, pronounced “Ya-hots”. The lighthouse is a beautiful bed and breakfast. The entire coast is gorgeous: please visit, but don’t move here! Too many wealthy retirees are building McMansions and destroying our beautiful unspoiled towns.
While on a deployment with the Massachusetts Air National Guard to Alamagordo AFB, NM, in 1981, I and several other airmen made the trip to Carlsbad Caverns on our day off. We got there in time for the last tour of the day. It was breathtaking and very captivating. As we were going through the caverns, they were shutting the lights off behind us. It was a thrilling adventure that I would highly recommend for others to see and appreciate.
