Visit this low-cost beautiful location, and you’ll get about 7 miles of perfect sandy white beaches on the Gulf of Mexico. With its relative affordability, Gulfport has ranked on many “best of” lists in the country, not just visiting but also retiring.
For families that are looking for an affordable beach trip with lots of opportunities to explore beyond the water, there are at least five kid-friendly attractions, including the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies and the Gulf Islands Water Park.
Also, as the state’s second-largest city with a year-round population of around 68,000 locals, Gulfport has no shortage of shopping and delicious dining options.
Fun Fact: Brett Favre, former NFL quarterback and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, was born in this low-cost location.

Visited all except Raleigh and live 15 miles from Huntsville Al. Arizona is one of my favorites! In April I spent a week with family, touring Grand Canyon, Sedona and taking a hot air balloon ride! Williamsburg’s great for history buffs, San Antonio’s Riverwalk is fabulous and Colorado is amazing. Love to travel and have been to all 50 states.
You are very blessed to have traveled that much. I live in Winston Co. Alabama
You can drive to the top of Pike’s Peak from Colorado Springs.
All great places, I have been to most of them. I do question the cost estimate of the hotels. They seem really low.
great place went there every summer for 10 years
