Boston, MA
History and modern times are joined at the hip, making Boston one of the most beautiful cities in the US. It’s the place where federal architecture goes back to the 1600s, and cobbled-stone streets meet glass-enclosed shopping galleries. And speaking of architecture, make sure to see the famous Back Bay row houses that are eye-catching and a must-see.
From chowder to lobster rolls, the city also loves its seafood. So while here, visit the city’s best raw bars and lobster shacks. Uncover Boston’s past while enjoying its modern edge. Enjoy the brewmasters, pedal-powered swan boat rides, or high-speed catamaran whale watches. Shop artisanal markets or chic boutiques.
Spend the afternoon at a sidewalk cafe or dine at one of the popular food trucks found throughout the city. Enjoy star-studded concerts, some under the stars, and take a stroll on the vibrant waterfront or cruise the historic harbor. There’s always something to do in Boston.

No Philadelphia?
I know right!!! surely they jest….
You should put Pittsburgh ,Pa, on the list.
Not San Francisco?!
I like the list in general, but I didn’t know that you intended to include relatively small cities like Charleston and Savannah. The One Giant Omission is San Francisco which is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in The World.
Used to be. No longer.
No, it is still the same city with a lot of garbage lying around. That can be fixed if the Wokeness crowd would allow it. I was born there, it’s my city and I hate what’s happened to it. We must not give up on it.
So agree with Larry Williams. How could you possibly omit San Fran?
San Diego Calif I grew up there and wish i never left,All around perfect,Miss it TY
Thank you for those lovely cities. I am a native of Chicago and enjoyed your view of
the city. I now live in South Carolina and enjoy visiting Charleston and Savannah in
Georgia. I am familiar with most of these cities and your description of them makes
one wish to visit. Luckily I have a son living in San Diego which gives me a reason to
visit.
I’ve seen and lived in both the New York and Las Angeles area and they are concrete jungles and not lovely! You would have to be in a park itself to make sense, but most of those cities by and large are sad and tragic! Wonderful theater and arts culture for both, but Charleston, South Carolina they are not.
You are CORRECT. LA is a PIT. As in armpit YUK
You are so right.I just moved last year to Branson Mo I have traveled far and wide and I think this is my last stop I love it so much a beautiful state and the people are so kind. And housing prices are great Check it out I love it.
Agree with You. I have been to 10 of the cities.
I didn’t see Pittsburgh, PA on the list. Having lived there in the 40’s and 50’s when the steel industry made it a smokey, sooty, malodorous city, more recent visits reveal a clean and picturesque vista with the three rivers and rolling hills overlooking the confluence. I look forward more to the aerial views of Point Park during Steeler games than the games themselves. Beautiful!!
I agree with you wholeheartedly!! Grew up not far from the Steel City.
At least 2/3 of the cities on your list, I would not go if I had free airfare and accommodations to them.
Miracle Mile Beautiful – but the Crime and killings weekly -ypu dont want to be there
How about Newport News ,Virginia: best small community in America
Yes ,I agree completely the cities are wonderful.
Have you been to these cities lately? I have been to all of them. The crime in some is out of control. San Francisco used to be the most beautiful, like a European city. Now it’s not even on the list. Everyone knows why. I would agree with San Diego, Charleston and Savannah and Boston. Very sad to see what years of liberal mayors have done to many once great cities, in my humble opinion.
I have been all of ithem, (way more beyond: Phylli, Pitts, Potland OR, Houston, Vegas … ) but where is San Francisco, which shall be put in the first place !
Philadelphia, Pa should be in there too.
Not sure why Orlando isn’t on the list since Orlando actually IS “The City Beautiful”.
Speaking of beautiful cities, Honolulu and Las Vegas should be listed as two of the most beautiful cities in the U.S.
San Antonio? Of course, standards of beauty can be expected to vary considerably when complex objects are being compared.
What about Philadelphia? I loved it when I was there for Grad School.
Philadelphia is a beautiful city. Loved it when I was there in Grad School.
LA & San Diego but not San Francisco? You’ve got to be kidding me!!
Lived in Chicago and Miami. Chicago a yes, Miami a no. San Diego the best. Love the southern cities.
great tips. thanks
any list of beautiful cities that does not include San Francisco is totally ridiculous.
Denver or Anchorage aren’t listed? WOW!
Washington, DC is beautiful in the Springtime, all the lovely blooming flowers just make the various monuments priceless. The weather is usually kind to all!
Wow! I can’t believe you didn’t include San Francisco. Gorgeous views everywhere.
Too bad two of California’s great cities are now trashed, San Fran. and Oakland. But, the suburbs of CA like Napa, Solano, San Joaquin, Monterey, Riverside, and Marin are still excellent places to see and have some local brewed wines. Happy scouting.
Pittsburgh isn’t on this list. We also don’t have the crime that most of these cities. I’ve read about New Orleans. Just recently, Bourbon Street is not as nice as it used to be.
Pittsburgh is definitely a nice city to visit, Hills, parks, city of bridges, three rivers at the point.
The most beautiful in Michigan is Port Huron. You should have it on your list.
Larry, read the list again
what about sedona arizona
I’ve been to all but one, Boston, MA. Would love to go back to Chicago and Seattle.
San Francisco not on the list?
That’s what I said. Surely the most beautiful US city
San Diego is beautiful especially Coronado. The weather is always cool with a nice breeze due to the surrounding water. It’s very expensive, but it’s worth seeing.
Most of these cities are extremely expensive. Some have high crime rates fueled by a large gang presence. I don’t feel that most of these places have anything so compelling that it’s worth risking your safety or spending an extreme amount of money just to visit one of these cities. I’d rather explore the natural beauty of upper Michigan. The Great Lakes, the mamoth sand dunes, charter fishing for walleye or salmon, is loads more fun than getting caught in the crowded streets and bad air of New York City. Michigan has plenty of picturesque cities and towns along beautiful lake shores and reasonable pricing for food an lodging.
You seem to have left off one of the most beautiful and unique city in the country, if not the world SAN FRANCISCO.
Where’s Pittsburgh? It’s amazing there! Three Rivers and incredible restaurants!
Why no San Francisco? It totally eclipses Dan Diego, which is a very boring place. It always was.
I have been to all of these cities and they are all beautiful in their own way. If I had to choose which one I would like to live it, it would be San Diego.
How bout Las Vegas?? It is gorgeous at night on the strip. Everyone should go there at least once in their lifetime.
Pittsburgh, PA?
Hey Chip. Thanks for the tip!
Most diverse and lots of beautiful gardens, paradise inside the city of Houston! It should top 10 most beautiful city.
Hi Eden! Thank you for letting us know. We’ll be sure to include Houston in our next post!
And not Houston? The most diverse city in America?
I haven’t been to all of those cities, and I have no argument about the ones I have been to. But how is San Francisco not on this list?
