OPAL POOL, OREGON
Getting to this location, given the modest start of the trail along a typical gravel road just outside of the mining town of Jawbone Flats, which by the way is interesting in its own right, it’s easy to imagine that there isn’t anything interesting at the end of the road.
Not to worry, because a hiking trail is soon revealed with a bridge that will lead you across Opal Creek.
Keep following the path a little farther, and you’ll reach Opal Pool, an impossibly gorgeous emerald green lagoon located next to dramatic rock walls and lush, overgrown trees…One of the best swimming holes for those hot summer days!
