The Ahwahnee, California
Located in Yosemite National Park.
Located in Yosemite National Park, this National Historic Landmark was built in 1927. The Ahwahnee is made up of 1,000 tons of steel, 5,000 tons of stone, and a whopping 30,000 feet of lumber. All of these materials were carefully carted through the mountains in the park’s early days. Now, the hotel stands as a pillar of human perseverance.
