The Art Institute of Chicago
If you’re coming to Chicago for a cultural experience, you’ve GOT to check out the Art Institute first.
It’s the city’s most magnific museum, a Beaux Arts treasure flanked by two bronze lions that are as much a symbol of Chicago as the Willis Tower, and this Chicago summer attraction has one of the most interesting impressionist collections in the world.
While you’re there, plan to stroll through Millennium Park next door. There are many exciting things to see and do. Among them is Cloud Gate, known by basically anyone who’s anyone as “The Bean.”
To give you a better understanding: If the Silver Surfer were a bean, THIS would be it. A selfie in the weird reflections of this very excellent piece of public art itself is an absolute MUST. But we recommend going early if you want to bypass all the crowds.
