1889 Inn: Deadwood, South Dakota
The 1899 Inn is one of the smaller bed and breakfasts on our list. But it’s in the middle of Deadwood’s Presidential District, just a five-minute stroll from the old mining town’s historic sites and Main Street saloons.
The main house has six guest rooms plus two private two-room cottages with living areas and full kitchens. All the rooms have views of the Black Hills in Deadwood, famous for its Wild West heritage. All reservations include a full breakfast served in the formal dining room.
One of the most captivating rooms is the Old Library, with its shelves of vintage books, an antique queen bed, and a pull-chain toilet.
This is the perfect Inn to book if you want to visit places like Mount Rushmore, Devils Tower, and Custer State Park. They’re all within an hour away.
