At the foot of the Rocky Mountains and yet still more than a mile above sea level, this low-cost location ranks third on US News And World Report’s 2019 list of best places to live.
With its mild temperatures and low humidity, outdoor lovers can find a huge variety of suitable attractions for the whole family.
Among them are the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, which also has an open-air chairlift ride up the mountain, and the Garden of the Gods Nature Center, but there are also many others.
Other popular low-cost attractions for families include the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center, and we also recommend the Ghost Town Museum.

Visited all except Raleigh and live 15 miles from Huntsville Al. Arizona is one of my favorites! In April I spent a week with family, touring Grand Canyon, Sedona and taking a hot air balloon ride! Williamsburg’s great for history buffs, San Antonio’s Riverwalk is fabulous and Colorado is amazing. Love to travel and have been to all 50 states.
You are very blessed to have traveled that much. I live in Winston Co. Alabama
You can drive to the top of Pike’s Peak from Colorado Springs.
All great places, I have been to most of them. I do question the cost estimate of the hotels. They seem really low.
great place went there every summer for 10 years
