Humblebee offers nature-deprived city kids a chance to embrace the rhythms of country life on a working Yorkshire farm. After sleeping in a wigwam, bell tent or yurt, days begin with eggs collected from the chicken coop and end with a gentle lullaby of barnyard bleats and moos (bell tent sleeping two adults and two children from £85 per night, two-night minimum stay).
Junior campers can get first-hand experience of lambing and calving depending on the season, or take a walk with an ecologist in search of bats and owls. North York Moors National Park is on the doorstep, best explored on foot or via its scenic steam railway.
- ARRIVE – Humblebee Farm is an hour northeast of York, off the A64, or 30 minutes by taxi from Scarborough train station.
