State: Missouri
Beautiful Place? Festus
When you think of Missouri, you’re first thought will probably be St. Louis. But just a half-hour drive south, you can find a quaint storybook town you simply “Must-See!” Festus may not be as popular as a lot of other cities in our country, but don’t let that fool you.
It’s a more petite but beautiful upcoming tourist destination that’s worth visiting. You’ll be surprised by some of the remarkable things you can do here and the places you can explore at this remote destination. And as an added bonus?
Stop for lunch and have yourself the best hamburger in the state! Ginny’s Kitchen & Custards has some fantastic meals and also some of the friendliest service you can get! Be sure to also stop by Jokerst Memorial Park for some relaxing nature opportunities.
And if you happen to be there during the Festus’ Traditional Music Festival, you’re in for a treat! All in all, we have a hunch that if you include this city on your itinerary, you’ll be thrilled you did so.

None of these are in my state. I was looking forward to seeing 11 beautiful places I did not know were in my state. Maryland!
I’ve been at White Sands National Park 2 times. I’m from Illinois so driving on the roads through there, it was like driving after a big snow storm. The sand dunes are very high. We had snow saucers. We had to wax them up real good then we went down like we were on snow. Beautiful… God made!!!
