How does a wildlife safari sound for YOUR next family trip?

You don’t have to go overseas to see wildlife from across the globe. There are many wildlife safari parks or conservation zones spread across the US for you to enjoy.

Thanks to a bunch of stateside safari parks, you can see giraffes and zebras roaming vast grasslands from an open-air vehicle. Adventurers can experience wildlife from around the world in our own backyard.

Designed to allow families to enjoy the animals within the confines of their own car, these adventures are a perfect option for some family fun.

Just be sure to visit ones accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums to make sure the animals are treated compassionately, and they receive the best care. Check out our 6 favorite wildlife safaris in America.

Lion Country Safari is divided into 7 distinctive wildlife regions. It’s also the only drive-thru safari in the sunshine state and the first in our country. If you choose to visit, you’ll get to meet African lions, chimpanzees, and wildebeests, along this drive-thru wildlife safari.

But it doesn’t end there. Your next stop is SafariWorld. It’s a fantastic amusement park where visitors can take a boat ride on the Safari Queen, play miniature golf, take a dip at Safari Splash, or ride the Ferris wheel.

There are even a few exhibit talks and performances at their animal theater.

Wolf Spotting, Minnesota

How would you like to see some timberwolves? Well, Northeastern Minnesota is the best place in our country to get a glimpse of them…75, to be more exact!

Visit the Voyageurs National Park or Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness for your best chance at wolf spotting. Northeast Minnesota’s Superior National Forest spreads over 1.2 million acres and has over 1,000 rivers, lakes, and streams.

You can also take a self-guided tour of Voyageurs National Park. But you’ll only be able to reach it by canoe or motorboat.

They can visit Bearizona Barnyard, where they’ll have a blast interacting with creatures at the petting zoo and discovering more about them from the keepers.

…Pro Tip: You might want to pack your camera for this one!

San Diego Zoo Safari Park, California

The San Diego Zoo Safari Park includes over 1,800 acres of space independent of the already fantastic San Diego Zoo. You’ll be greeted by over 300 species of wildlife brought over from 6 continents.
