Train Tour: Smoky Mountains
Suppose you decide o take this train tour through Tennessee and North Carolina’s Great Smoky Mountains. In that case, you’ll be stopping in some of the most historically important and vibrant cities and exploring the stunning scenery.
Starting off in Nashville, the train travels to Chattanooga and Pigeon Forge before infiltrating the wilderness in steam locomotives.
The tours available are the Incline Railway to Lookout Mountain, the Summerville Steam Special of the Tennessee Valley Railroad, and the Tuckasegee Steam Train of the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad.
After going through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the trains end their journey in Asheville, North Carolina. The beautiful city offers many opportunities to explore Neoclassical structures and Gothic architecture, including the historic Biltmore Estate.

Hello Geraldine! Considering there are MANY beautiful options in the US, we recommend choosing a train tour that best suits your needs and interests. But no matter which one you pick, be sure to check the weather forecast during that time period as to avoid any unpleasant surprises. We hope you and your grandson have a fun trip!

The Mount Washington Cog sounds like an amazing idea for my upcoming Birthday on December 9. Please send pricing information. Thanks
It is not likely that the cog railway will run on December 9th as the summit of Mt. Washington, which has recorded the lowest temps and highest wind velocity in the continental US. It s possible to hike it in December, but you must be very experienced, well equipped, and have experienced artic-weather hikers with you, have satelite radios and the good sense to TURN BACK when the weather worsens. There have been several deaths on that mountain this winter alone, and near 200 in all have perished there over the years.
I like the the Rockies but what I want to know do you have a train tour for the fall foliage from New York to Maine this is what I’ll like to do and go please let me know thank you

1) Rocky Mountaineer!! We did a trip from Banff National Park to Vancouver. We departed th train in Jasper, stayed overnight and then took a bus trip from Jasper to Banff. Made stops along the way including Lake Louise in Alberta. Was an unforgettable experience!!
2) The cog train on Mt Washington was also great. The train was fun and when we arrived on the top of the mountain it was a windy experience. Be sure to bring someone to hang on to

Love to see more send brochure
These all sound wonderful except the one regarding the extreme heights; I think that one would be out because I do have panic attacks when go up high. Sadly, you never mentioned any cost factors throughout the tour of looking through the various trips. We would have to know up front what a complete trip would probable cost & then figure the amount of cash we’d want to have for spending. Since we are retired seniors and live strictly on our retirement social security, that would all have to be figured in advance of booking. I will appreciate any feedback you can send and will thank you kindly.
Hope all of your team are having a great summer & trying to keep cool.
Sincerely, Harryette Elaine Miller Burnette
