We’ve chosen the most incredible US mother-daughter getaways!

There’s nothing like a US mother-daughter getaway to create a bond between a mom and her adult daughter.

But the ultimate multigenerational women’s escape needs a few key ingredients: an itinerary that includes a good blend of activities, a lovely destination, including relaxation, and, in our opinion, also spending a little time apart each day.

Just because one doesn’t quite understand TikTok and the other would rather text than talk on the phone doesn’t mean a US mother-daughter getaway won’t be the adventure of a lifetime!

Whether it’s motivating each other to keep trudging up a mountain or always being up for trying a new vino, you’ve got to admit that you two are pretty amazing travel companions.

So come along with us as Must See Places discovers 7 US mother-daughter getaways you MUST add to your bucket list!

Sedona, Arizona

Wellness-seekers of all ages love Sedona. This Arizona destination is well-known for its energy vortexes and stunning red rocks, where travelers go to meditate and reflect.

After working up a sweat by taking a hike on Bell Rock or Cathedral Rock, both of which are considered energy vortexes, on your US mother-daughter getaway, you can grab a bite at the popular Elote Cafe, which serves up regionally inspired Mexican cuisine like elote and carne asada.

After your adventure-filled day, return to your room at Amara Resort and Spa, prized for its heated outdoor infinity pool, serene spa, and contemporary accommodations with private balconies.

Chesapeake Bay, Maryland

Moms and daughters who adore the water but want to avoid East Coast beach crowds should check out Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Easily accessible from DC as well as from Philly and New York, the gorgeous, low-key region embracing the scenic Chesapeake Bay includes several charming and historic towns, including St. Michael’s, which was established in the 1600s and is home to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.

While on this US mother-daughter getaway, you can book a stay at the waterfront Inn at Perry Cabin, where you can dine on freshly caught Maryland blue crabs at Stars and spoil yourselves with a Three Rivers Massage, which is a treatment that’s inspired by the Eastern Shore waterways.

Book their Skip the Bridge Package for something even more memorable, and you’ll get picked up in the hotel’s custom Hinckley yacht, Five Star, and be ferried to the hotel in style, Champagne toast included.

Winter Park, Florida

Towns that let you park your car on arrival and forget about it the rest of your trip are definitely the way to go! And the upscale town of Winter Park, right outside of downtown Orlando, is exactly that sort of place.

Begin this US mother-daughter getaway by getting the lay of the ground. You’re surrounded by the natural Winter Park chain of lakes bordered by stately homes.

Pontoon cruises with Scenic Boat Tours can take you through shaded canals within yards of the gracious lawns of mansions, with stunning views at every turn. Park Avenue, full of charming cafes and stylish boutiques, is a pleasant place to stroll around.

Also on Park Avenue, the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art houses the most extensive collection of glassworks by Louis Comfort Tiffany, who wintered in the area.

Looking for more to see? Each Saturday morning, a lovely farmers market spills out from Winter Park’s historic train depot, where you can catch the SunRail commuter train to downtown Orlando for more exploring.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

This US mother-daughter getaway is very well-known for its rich and fascinating history. After all, you’ve got Independence Hall, the Museum of the American Revolution, the Liberty Bell, and Betsy Ross House, among many other historic places.

But we recommend going beyond the basics, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Also known as the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia is going through a culinary revival, thanks to innovative eateries like Laser Wolf, which is considered one of the world’s best restaurants, and Lark.

You can also explore the city’s strange and wonderful art scene by taking a stroll and wandering through Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens.

Willamette Valley, Oregon

Oregon’s dense Willamette Valley is an excellent alternative to the prices of Napa. In McMinnville, you’ll find charming shops along the main street, fresh local food at restaurants, and incredible lodgings like Atticus Hotel.

There are also over 20 tasting rooms in town, which include bottles from the more than 250 wineries within a 20-mile radius.

And even though you can certainly stop by any tasting room unannounced while on this US mother-daughter getaway, for a more subtle experience, we recommend booking R. Stuart and Co.’s Taste of Place, which takes you through the Valley’s various terroirs one winery at a time.

If you wish to squeeze in some spa time, and who would blame you?, book an afternoon at the nearby Allison Inn & Spa for a signature “Pinotherapy” treatment and have some lunch at farm-to-table restaurant Jory.

Blairsville, Georgia

This relaxing spot in the Blue Ridge Mountains in northern Georgia offers an attractive mix of small-town charm and nature pursuits. You can visit Paradise Hills Winery, Resort and Spa, which is a 40-acre property that has a vineyard and tasting room.

It’s a prime launching point for outings on your US mother-daughter getaway along the Georgia Wine Highway in Union County.

You’ll even find out how moonshine is produced at Grandaddy Mimm’s Moonshine Distillery and Museum. And be sure to swing by Sunrise Grocery, a charming 1920s-era country store selling local honey, freshly boiled peanuts, soaps, and much more.

For stunning views to swoon over, you can either take a leisurely hike a half-mile up or drive to Brasstown Bald, Georgia’s highest peak, where an observation deck is open to visitors all the way from May to November.

If you happen to visit on a clear day, you can see Atlanta, which is about 100 miles away!

Asheville, North Carolina

A trip to Asheville affords you some US mother-daughter getaway quality time in nature. Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, the city is a magnet for biking and hiking enthusiasts.

The destination and its surrounding region boast a whopping 3,000-plus miles of trails. But don’t let that throw you off if you’re not a big fan of active adventures.

You can always just take a few leisurely walks and snap a few photos in nature, which you’ll cherish for the rest of your life! Afterward, head to the historic Biltmore Estate for a tour or wine tasting.

Or, you can check out the 43,000-square-foot spa at the Omni Grove Park Inn, fitted with several pools, including one with underwater music and 6,500 fiber-optic stars, plus eucalyptus-infused steam rooms, fireside lounges, and much more.
