The Great Escape Lakeside and The Sweet Escape Mansion – Clermont, FL

Suppose you plan on taking your family to Disney World or Universal Studios. In that case, you may want to look into Clermont for your accommodations.

Specifically near the lakeside, with these places, you’ll be able to keep your pack busy while taking a break from the theme parks. The Great Escape sleeps groups of up to 42 people if you decide to go with more families. The area itself can be considered an amusement park. Besides your typical volleyball and basketball court, you can enjoy human bowling, play checkers, and connect-4 on a giant board. You’ve got the go-fish pool and lazy river, and of course, we can’t forget the hide and go seek Forrest.

If this doesn’t impress you enough, wait till you see that each bedroom is game-themed. Personally, I would stay in the Zoltar room, hoping he would make me a kid again overnight! The Sweet Escape Mansion is similar and also has a giant human Candyland board game.

Fabulous Funky 70’s Retro Lakefront Home – Iola, Wisconsin

On a slightly different note, this two-bedroom home might not be as luxurious. But if your looking for a weekend of relaxation, this place not only gives you that, it sends you right back to the 70s!

The Lake on which it is located is a millpond and perfect if you enjoy paddle boating, canoeing, and kayaking. Even though the house was built in 1975, it’s been modernized and blends vintage interior designs while keeping that 70’s vibe about it. The open floor plan makes it a fantastic place to relax with family, friends, or partner.

While the cabinet is stocked with family-friendly DVDs, books, and board games from the ’70s, we have to warn you that you won’t be using the internet during your stay. But then, it didn’t exist in the seventies anyway, did it?

Pirates of the Caribbean Getaway – Topanga Canyon, California

How about a Caribbean getaway with your loved one where you have an outdoor seashell bathtub, relax in a hammock,  pretend you’ve gone out at sea. All without ever leaving the US. This Topanga County home has the facilities and decor to make you feel relaxed in the Californian air while enjoying all of the scenery around you.

You can look forward to different types of tikis and statues, and even ponds and waterfalls dispersed around the property for the guests to enjoy while outdoors.

While this location does have all the amenities included, you will want to spend all your time outdoors. The front yard with swings, teepees for lounging, a wooden walkway,  and multiple patios are some of the great features of the outside area at this property. There is even a Jacuzzi and sauna that guests can use.

The Shire of Montana Hobbit House – Trout Creek, Montana

If your a fan of the outdoors and Lord Of The Rings combined, you may want to spend a few days out here and take in nature. In Trout Creek, there is a secluded valley where you can find more than a bed to sleep in. This house offers its guests a lodging experience full of magic, imagination, and, yes, a truly unique underground experience just like the hobbits.

The home is surrounded by a magical village that seems to come alive at night. From the display of lights to the mushrooms that line Hobbit Lane, you start to get the feeling that you are in a Tolkein book. Inside the 1,000 sq ft house, you will walk into a 2 bedroom with HD-Satellite flat-screen TV, a Blu-Ray CD player, and a library of books and CDs.

Also worth mentioning is the wood-burning stove you can enjoy on a cold night. Though I don’t think you will have a problem staying warm since the cottage is underground and a consistent 55-60 degrees.

Phoenix Earthship – El Prado, New Mexico

Oddly, when seeing this place, you may think you’ve stepped into the future. High above the El Prado desert, you have a full view of the mountains.

This sustainable piece of art, because there’s no other way to describe it, is solar-powered. It can sleep 4 in its two bedrooms. While we have to warn you that watching the sunset could become your new addiction, we can’t leave out the jungle greenhouse, which comes with its very own grapevines and banana trees.

And let’s not forget about the chicken coop where you can either make new friends or collect fresh eggs for your breakfast.

ManCave Apartment – Geneva, Florida

Airbnb corporate has decided that Dan Shaw and his wife are the most creative hosts in the world. We’re not surprised after seeing this airplane hangar which has its own downtown community. We can’t forget to mention the two-ton hydraulic garage door that opens on the side of a house to reveal a bar that hosts “goat happy hour” with Nigerian pygmy goats. You can even learn how to milk them.

Downtown Danville has a two-bedroom, two-bathroom inn for visitors that comes with its own theater. While the bed is upstairs located in the loft, the downstairs space has a bar, microwave, satellite TV, fireplace, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning. Even though around the hangar is a functioning garage and maintenance facility where classic cars are being worked on, Shaw boasts the even the women seem to like it.

Fair warning that while visiting, you will come in contact with Phineas, the resident cat who calls the hanger his home.

Toy Story Experience – El Paso, Texas

This is a seemingly ordinary Texan home from the outside, but inside you enter “Infinity and Beyond!”. “Toy Story” is one of the most significant animated movies in history. Besides the fact that it was the 1st feature film to be entirely computer-animated, it was the first feature film from Pixar Animation.

Bringing childhood wonder to life, “My Experience Matters” offers 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, and each room is decorated differently based on your preferred character. There is even a Pizza Planet hallway you walk through. A fireplace is included, along with a well-equipped kitchen.

The location is excellent because within 12 miles is the Butterfield Trail Golf Club, The Woodhouse Day Spa, Speaking Rock Entertainment Center, and Cielo Vista Mall.

Love Nest – Morongo Valley, California

This property unquestionably lives up to its name. Just 20 minutes from Palm Springs, you can become a cowboy at the Draft Horse Saloon, play a round of pool, horseshoes, and ping pong.

If you wonder what it would have been like living in the Wild West, now’s your chance to find out! Complete with an old saloon and many friendly farm animals, you can get a private room and bathroom in the barn after having a full day of adventures. You can look forward to hiking the trails right out the front door, take a tour of the property on a Jeep, and pamper yourself with a facial or massage.

Admiring the stars at night on the deck doesn’t sound too shabby either!

The McFly-Back to the 80s – Dallas, Texas

Lower Greenville is one of Dallas’ most lively neighborhoods, with indie restaurants, coffee shops, and nightlife in every direction. This is great to know because this next spot will make you book your next flight to Texas.

We’re stepping into the 80s and bringing our “A” game with us. This place has a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade and Nintendo. A dining area that will make you feel like you’re at The Max and Zach and Kelly are about to walk in, and did we mention the vast cereal buffet selection?

It has enough room for six people, but you may fight over who gets the Michael Jackson room. It fits up to 6 people, but if this isn’t enough space for you, you can book The Slater, which is right upstairs.

The Pink Castle – Hudson, Wisconsin

If your visiting the Wisconsin/Minnesota area with a larger group and are looking for a unique experience, you may want to check out “The Pink Castle,” as named by locals.

This Victorian Mansion, built in 1883, has been transformed into what some may call a fairy tale. This 4,400ft house includes a heated pool, hot tub, and workout room. It has a cabin-style third floor if the men in your group are overwhelmed by the pink and 3 very spacious and unique bedrooms. There is even a mermaid-themed living room, complete with glamorous revamped Victorian furniture, custom nautical artwork, and giant seashells everywhere.

It is in a great location because you have easy access to Historical Downtown Hudson and about 30 miles from Mall of America.

Vintage Boeing 727 Plane – Costa Rica

You might have observed that all of the places on our list have been in the US. Well, this last one is so interesting that we couldn’t just omit it because of its location.

In the jungle of Manuel Antonio near the National Park, you will find what may look like an old airplane but is, in fact, a hotel room on a 50- foot pedestal. This destination may seem a bit over the top. Still, suppose you have a sense of adventure. In that case, you will experience two air-conditioned bedrooms,  a tv area, kitchen, dining area, bathroom, and a wing balcony with an extraordinary view of the pacific ocean.

At the top of the plane’s right wing, there is a wooden deck where you can admire the astonishment of the tropical forest surrounds you. This location is the most exclusive hotel in Costa Rica, surrounded by the jungle on all sides.
