Kehoe House: Savannah, Georgia

Kehoe House is an incredible restored 1892 Renaissance Revival mansion in the historic district of Savannah. You’ll have to leave the kiddos at home for this one because it’s an adults-only bed and breakfast.

So it’s the perfect bed and breakfast for anniversaries and romantic occasions. The house features 13 guest rooms and numerous private and semi-private balconies.

It’s often photographed and is regarded as one of this city’s most cherished historic buildings. Gourmet breakfasts are cooked here, and hors-d’oeuvres and wine are served in the parlor daily, followed by coffee and desserts.

We hear that complimentary turndown service with homemade cookies is also included in every stay!

1889 Inn: Deadwood, South Dakota

The 1899 Inn is one of the smaller bed and breakfasts on our list. But it’s in the middle of Deadwood’s Presidential District, just a five-minute stroll from the old mining town’s historic sites and Main Street saloons.

The main house has six guest rooms plus two private two-room cottages with living areas and full kitchens. All the rooms have views of the Black Hills in Deadwood, famous for its Wild West heritage. All reservations include a full breakfast served in the formal dining room.

One of the most captivating rooms is the Old Library, with its shelves of vintage books, an antique queen bed, and a pull-chain toilet.

Galena Inn: Galena, Illinois

The Galena Inn is a historic home constructed in 1856 on a peaceful street. For those who didn’t know, Galena was the hometown of President Ulysses S. Grant, who, fun fact: was a friend of the original owner!

In 1869, President Grant gave his farewell speech to the town from this bed and breakfast’s main balcony before taking his place in the White House.

Nowadays, though, visitors can learn about the place’s history and even stay in the room where Ulysses S. Grant used to lay his head. The Galena Inn delivers colonial-style rooms with antique decor, making you feel like you’ve traveled back in time.

But don’t worry! Each uniquely-named room has modern amenities, including Egyptian cotton bedding, for an enjoyable stay. You’ll find deluxe guest amenities outside the property, including a hot tub spa and a magnificent English garden.

The owners provide their guests with a fulfilling breakfast, making sure they’re fully energized before they set out to explore the charming town. Note: Children under the age of 12 aren’t allowed to preserve the peaceful nature of the bed and breakfast.

Garth Woodside Mansion: Hannibal, Missouri

The claim to fame of Hannibal, Missouri, is its most famous former resident, Samuel Clemens, AKA Mark Twain! Two of Twain’s childhood friends used to live at this historic bed and breakfast.

But nowadays, the property serves Mark Twain Bourbon in his honor and a vast collection of wines. You can even stay in the room he used to sleep in when he visited this place, which has the initial Carrera marble fireplace and three 10ft windows.

All of this property’s rooms have private baths, and most of them also have fireplaces. The cottages on-site offer private decks with hot tubs, microwave, and convection ovens, and a mini fridge with water and sodas. You’ll also be served homemade breakfast every morning.

Worth Noting: Garth Woodside Mansion has been rated number 1 in the state for the past few years!
