Travel During the Pandemic: The Safest Vacation Ideas

Photo by Chalabala from Envato Elements

If we take into consideration our current situation, popular destination spots such as New York City and Las Vegas aren’t a great idea when it comes to travel safety. So, if you are looking for the safest travel destinations, you should give this post a try.

Pack your face masks, hand sanitizers, alcohol cleaning wipes, medical gloves and, of course some comfortable clothes and get ready for departure.

As long as you steer clear of the cities that have the highest number of COVID-19 cases, everything will probably be okay. However, renting an RV is actually the best thing to do right now if you want to avoid airports and hotels.

1. Civil War battlefields

Our country is full of Civil War battlefields, especially the East Coast. Green hills, woods and spectacular landscapes buried the sacrifices made by previous generations who made the country what it is today. Now, it’s the perfect time to think about our history and contemplate about what happened during the American Civil War.

Historical sites such as Gettysburg National Military Park, Richmond National Battlefield Park, Antietam Battlefield, Vicksburg Battlefield or Shiloh Battlefield are important marks everyone should explore at least once in their lifetime.

4. Private islands

Nowadays, privacy translates to safety. Travel blogger Michael Moebes of Dadcation flew to Little Raccoon Key in Georgia and said that “it was the first day in months that we had no plans or obligations; we just explored the island and its beaches, read books and enjoyed one another’s company somewhere besides our house and yard in Atlanta.”

Moebes also added that “it would have been a nice break from normalcy at any time, but it was especially welcomed during a time when ‘normalcy’ has meant deprivation from the activities we typically enjoy as a family.” Also, if you think that renting a private island is way too expensive, check out our list of affordable private islands:
