St Regis Singapore: Your Second Home

St Regis New York opened in 1904 as a meeting ground for Manhattan high society: a place where the Astor 400 — the city’s social elite, hand-picked by Caroline Astor — could enjoy the luxury and comfort of a private home. Her son and founder of the hotel John Jacob Astor IV, spared no expense in creating supreme luxury: from marble floors and crystal chandeliers to antique Louis XV furniture, oriental rugs and a library of 3,000 leather-bound, gold-tooled books (many of which came from his personal collection). The Astors’ legacy has endured, with more than 60 St Regis hotels around the world.

Since 2007, St Regis Singapore has been a prime destination for jet-setters visiting the island state. The property boasts 299 guestrooms and suites, with the distinct advantage of being situated in the heart of the city’s premier embassy and shopping districts. All guests enjoy the legendary St Regis Butler service — a bespoke experience that ensures a guest’s every need is catered to by discreet personal butlers (everything from unpacking your suitcases to sourcing exotic fruit can be arranged).

St Regis Singapore also houses one of the finest private art collections in Asia. Approaching the hotel, guests are immediately greeted by a monumental sculpture by Colombian artist Fernando Botero. Ten original Picassos adorn the walls at Astor Bar, the birthplace of the Bloody Mary cocktail. Works by international and local artists are dotted around the hotel s public areas as well as in the suites. The hotel also offers a walking tour of its art collection, conducted by the St Regis butlers at 6pm daily.
