Cannon Beach, Oregon

This is NOT just any other beach town. This budget-friendly place is one of the most sought-after beaches in our country and the best in Oregon. It features Haystack Rock, a large rock formation a few hundred feet out.

The breathtaking scene is also one of the most popular desktop backgrounds! You can even take a walk out to Haystack Rock when it’s low tide and take a few snapshots with the rock.

But be aware that if the tide is too low, wildlife officers might barricade the area to protect the natural ecosystem. We recommend you visit in the summer if you’d like to go for a swim…it IS, after all, the Pacific Ocean.

You also don’t want to get caught in the rain in spring. So your best bet is to visit this budget-friendly place between June and August.

Gatlinburg, Tennessee

You’ll find Gatlinburg near the North Carolina border in East Tennessee. It’s the gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This entire region is scattered with historic sites and unbelievable views.

You’ll be impressed by the easy-going southern culture and crisp mountain air in this budget-friendly place. For some panoramic vista views, take a ride on the Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway.

We love visiting in the fall to get a glimpse of the foliage, and it’s much more budget-friendly than places like Vermont. If in the area on a clear day, you can see for more than 100 miles from the top of Clingman’s Dome. This is the highest point in Tennessee.

You can also book a white river rafting experience, take a ropes course, go river tubing, and have zip-lining adventures if you need an active day. It even has every accommodation you can imagine, from quaint cabins in the woods to luxurious resorts.

All in all, this budget-friendly place has something for everyone!

Hot Springs, Arkansas

This budget-friendly place will feel just like stepping back in time! At a certain point in time, Hot Springs was a lively little place. The ancient Native American natural springs were transformed into the incredible Bathhouse Row.

Nowadays, the area has 9 historic bathhouses that are architecturally beautiful.

Be sure to stop first at the Fordyce Bathhouse, which is the National Park Visitor Center, and it features a 20th-century gymnasium, antique spa equipment, and decorated sleeping chambers.

You can even get the traditionally prescribed therapy at the Buckstaff. The area is also full of 19th-century estates that were transformed into Bed and Breakfasts and boutique hotels.

And if you wish to explore, you’ll find some lovely art galleries, and the dining is the best in the state. You can grab a burger at the Ohio Club, the old gangster bar.

Window shop along all the quirky boutiques of the drag or place your bet on a horse at Oaklawn. Finally, end your evening with a meal from the local German place, Steinhaus Keller.

St. Augustine, Florida

St. Augustine is perfect for couples interested in history and learning a bit more about the state’s colonial period. This budget-friendly place is also famous for being the oldest continuously occupied settlement in our country.

In St. Augustine, you’ll be walking across cobblestone streets, visiting historic sites and museums, and you can even swim and relax on the magical Florida beaches. There’s also no cost for visiting Fort Mose Historic State Park, Fort Matanzas, and several museums.

The city is only about 2 hours away from Disney World. So, if you happen to have a little extra funds to spend on your trip, you can take a break from St. Augustine for a day…or two!

The most ideal time to visit St. Augustine is in the springtime, between March and May. There’ll be mild weather, fewer crowds, and lower fees!

Branson, Missouri

Many pop culture lovers flock to this budget-friendly place. It’s very well-known for its group of theaters on Country Boulevard, which has Dolly Parton’s Stampede Dinner Attraction with a live performance, including 32 horses and riders in a 35,000 sqft arena.

But that attraction is on the pricier side, with tickets costing about $55. Branson has much more than that to offer, though. It may be a small town with merely 10,000 residents, but 8 million visitors a year go for good reason.

It’s known to be the live entertainment capital of the world! Besides all those shows, the town also has lots of museums, golfing, fishing, and hiking. The area even boasts over 6,000 caves for you to explore.

The summertime from June to August is a popular time to visit, but expect it to be a bit crowded. For a truly unforgettable experience, we recommend visiting just before Christmas. This is when the town transforms into a winter wonderland!
