San Diego, CA

Many people state that this is one of the most beautiful cities in California. We might have to agree! San Diego has the very best all-around weather across America, with its 70-degree temperatures, low humidity, and sunny skies all year long.

Add in that beautiful bay and its beaches, the famous zoo and the disarming madness of Comic-Con International, the annual Godzilla of comic conventions that brings out cosplay enthusiasts by the thousands every July, and it’ll become impossible not to love this wonderful California city. It’s a foodie’s heaven with the seafood and Mexican cuisine cooked to perfection here.

While others flock to Pechanga and Viejas, the two posh Native American casinos nearby. Kids come for Legoland, and everyone hits KAABOO, the massive music, art, comedy, and culinary festival taking place in September.

    1. I like the list in general, but I didn’t know that you intended to include relatively small cities like Charleston and Savannah. The One Giant Omission is San Francisco which is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in The World.

        1. No, it is still the same city with a lot of garbage lying around. That can be fixed if the Wokeness crowd would allow it. I was born there, it’s my city and I hate what’s happened to it. We must not give up on it.

  1. Thank you for those lovely cities. I am a native of Chicago and enjoyed your view of
the city. I now live in South Carolina and enjoy visiting Charleston and Savannah in
Georgia. I am familiar with most of these cities and your description of them makes
one wish to visit. Luckily I have a son living in San Diego which gives me a reason to
    visit.

    1. I’ve seen and lived in both the New York and Las Angeles area and they are concrete jungles and not lovely! You would have to be in a park itself to make sense, but most of those cities by and large are sad and tragic! Wonderful theater and arts culture for both, but Charleston, South Carolina they are not.

        1. You are so right.I just moved last year to Branson Mo I have traveled far and wide and I think this is my last stop I love it so much a beautiful state and the people are so kind. And housing prices are great Check it out I love it.

    1. Chip Meadowcroft

I didn’t see Pittsburgh, PA on the list. Having lived there in the 40’s and 50’s when the steel industry made it a smokey, sooty, malodorous city, more recent visits reveal a clean and picturesque vista with the three rivers and rolling hills overlooking the confluence. I look forward more to the aerial views of Point Park during Steeler games than the games themselves. Beautiful!!

  2. At least 2/3 of the cities on your list, I would not go if I had free airfare and accommodations to them.

  3. Have you been to these cities lately? I have been to all of them. The crime in some is out of control. San Francisco used to be the most beautiful, like a European city. Now it’s not even on the list. Everyone knows why. I would agree with San Diego, Charleston and Savannah and Boston. Very sad to see what years of liberal mayors have done to many once great cities, in my humble opinion.

  4. I have been all of ithem, (way more beyond: Phylli, Pitts, Potland OR, Houston, Vegas … ) but where is San Francisco, which shall be put in the first place !

  5. Jacque Leighty

San Antonio? Of course, standards of beauty can be expected to vary considerably when complex objects are being compared.

  6. susan clifford

Lived in Chicago and Miami. Chicago a yes, Miami a no. San Diego the best. Love the southern cities.
    great tips. thanks

  7. Laurene Walker

Washington, DC is beautiful in the Springtime, all the lovely blooming flowers just make the various monuments priceless. The weather is usually kind to all!

  8. Too bad two of California’s great cities are now trashed, San Fran. and Oakland. But, the suburbs of CA like Napa, Solano, San Joaquin, Monterey, Riverside, and Marin are still excellent places to see and have some local brewed wines. Happy scouting.

  9. Frederic Lucas

Pittsburgh isn’t on this list. We also don’t have the crime that most of these cities. I’ve read about New Orleans. Just recently, Bourbon Street is not as nice as it used to be.

    1. James Johnson

Pittsburgh is definitely a nice city to visit, Hills, parks, city of bridges, three rivers at the point.

  10. San Diego is beautiful especially Coronado. The weather is always cool with a nice breeze due to the surrounding water. It’s very expensive, but it’s worth seeing.

  11. James R Nicholls

Most of these cities are extremely expensive. Some have high crime rates fueled by a large gang presence. I don’t feel that most of these places have anything so compelling that it’s worth risking your safety or spending an extreme amount of money just to visit one of these cities. I’d rather explore the natural beauty of upper Michigan. The Great Lakes, the mamoth sand dunes, charter fishing for walleye or salmon, is loads more fun than getting caught in the crowded streets and bad air of New York City. Michigan has plenty of picturesque cities and towns along beautiful lake shores and reasonable pricing for food an lodging.

  12. Darryl Costanza

You seem to have left off one of the most beautiful and unique city in the country, if not the world SAN FRANCISCO.

  13. I have been to all of these cities and they are all beautiful in their own way. If I had to choose which one I would like to live it, it would be San Diego.

  14. How bout Las Vegas?? It is gorgeous at night on the strip. Everyone should go there at least once in their lifetime.

  15. Most diverse and lots of beautiful gardens, paradise inside the city of Houston! It should top 10 most beautiful city.

  16. I haven’t been to all of those cities, and I have no argument about the ones I have been to. But how is San Francisco not on this list?
