Have you ever dreamt of having a close encounter of the third kind? Do you dream about the day you shake hands with an alien or go toe to toe with an intergalactic bounty hunter?… Don’t we all? Humans have wanted to make contact with other life forms for centuries.
But unless you have access to some significant satellites and a few billion dollars of government funding, the chances of it happening to an average person are pretty slim. According to reports, there have only been 2,475 UFO sightings in the US recently.
If you think about it, that’s minimal for a country with over 300 million people. But don’t fret! Even for those of us that don’t have any NASA training, there are ways to increase the likelihood that you’ll make contact with ET in your lifetime.
And it all begins with taking the proper vacation! Certain cities in our country see way more alien activity than others. So if you’re ready for your significant alien encounter, transport yourself to one of these 5 UFO hot spots!
If you’ve been a big fan of aliens and UFOs, you’ve definitely heard of the mysterious incident that took place in July of 1947 n Roswell. Our country’s military reported that there was a spaceship crash discovered, along with an alien body.
Then, they later claimed it was only a weather balloon. Since that event took place, many tourists and curious fans have flocked to visit this location.
While visiting, you can go to the Roswell Museum And Arts Center, where you’ll learn more about the history of this area and the events that have taken place here.
You’ll even get to check out some interesting artifacts. A great idea for alien lovers would be to attend the annual Roswell UFO Festival for all things UFO and compete in their costume contest. You can even join their alien-themed parade!
We don’t recommend trying to get into Area 51 unless a lengthy prison stay sounds appealing. So to evade doing time, we suggest visiting the nearby town of Rachel.
It’s the best place to learn more about the most famous UFO site in the US. Sometime in the 1950s, UFOs sightings began being reported around the Nevada Test and Training Range.
This was mainly because our military used the area to test out military aircrafts that flew higher than the standard jets, and they had abnormally colored lights.
A rational explanation didn’t stop the public from spreading wild rumors about disappearing runways and autopsies of Roswell aliens taking place belowground.
Nowadays, Area 51 has become the epitome of UFO legends. And Rachel has hopped aboard the alien train as well. It has a local motel and restaurant named the Little A’Le’Inn that serves a fantastic burger.
And the town also has plenty of people who, for a fee of course, give you tour around Area 51’s perimeter and show you famous “alleged” alien sites through the fences.
Several reports of mysterious creatures and missing animals have earned Hooper, Colorado, a spot on our list.
In fact, so many people started traveling to this spooky place that the UFO Watchtower was installed so that onlookers could get a 360-degree picturesque view of Hooper’s lovely starry sky.
You can make a weekend of it and camp out in this stunning, scenic refuge. Just be sure to have your camera ready because if you look close enough, you might actually spot something odd.
If you ever find yourself in Colorado, this UFO hotspot is the perfect place to look out for some flying saucers! And even if you don’t get a chance to see any supernatural sights, you’ll have the sparkling night sky to keep you amazed!
Aurora is a small town about 30 miles away from Fort Worth. If visiting, your first stop MUST be the cemetery! You’ll find the burial site of a unique individual: the android pilot of a cigar-shaped object. How did he get there?
Well, sometime in May 1897, which is 50 years BEFORE the Roswell crash, it fell from the sky and crashed into a windmill that belonged to one of the local magistrates. Nowadays, it’s considered the only extraterrestrial gravesite in the United States.
The navigator even got a name. People called him Ned, and they believed he was from Mars. That’s what locals believed at the time, anyway. But here’s where the story gets a bit bizarre… Authorities haven’t been able to prove locals wrong!
Researchers tested the metal from the crash site and found the results inconclusive. They DID attempt to exhume Ned’s grave.
But unfortunately, they were prohibited from doing so because to disinter a grave, you must first notify the next of kin… We can see how that would be a problem!
We obviously had to save the best for last. If you believe anything about aliens and them crashing at Roswell, then you most likely know about them being taken to Area 51.
The “official” story is that this is a top-secret weapons testing facility where crafts like the U-2 bomber were first tested and flown. Until recent years, the government denied that Area 51 even existed, so who knows what they’re still denying or hiding.
But no matter what you choose to believe, you can spend about $200 of your money on an all-day tour around this area. Of course, you could always just drive around it to check out the area yourself. Just make sure you don’t get too close.
Since getting into our country’s top-secret military facility isn’t possible without a special badge, the next best thing is its tour.
Its highlights include a stop at the famous Little A’le’ Inn, a drive on the extraterrestrial highway, the Joshua Tree Forest that’s featured in the movie “Men in Black,” and the location of the allegedly abducted black mailbox.
You might even get to see some mysterious lights in the sky, which are constantly sighted in this area.
