Issaqueena Falls, Walhalla, South Carolina

Issaquena is a dazzling 98-foot waterfall in beautiful Walhalla, home to many breathtaking waterfalls. A brief stroll to an observation deck will take you up close and personal to one of the nation’s most spectacular natural wonders.

And the best part is that seeing this beauty requires ZERO effort on your part. There’s a unique local legend associated with this roadside waterfall, as well. It was named after a Native American who warned settlers of an attack.

She was then chased by her people and was said to have been seen jumping over the falls. So you’ll enjoy a bit of history along with the beauty, all rolled into one, by visiting this fall.

Also in the area is the bizarre Stumphouse Tunnel, an unfinished railroad tunnel for the Blue Ridge Railroad, which is said to be haunted by many ghosts nowadays!

There are certainly some amazing falls west if the Mississippi. Some additional showing them would be a fine addition “next time.”

What about Taughannock Falls on Cayuga Lake in New York? Highest falls in eastern U.S. You can drive right up to the overlook. Your opening photo appears to be it.

Bald River Falls near Tellico, TN. A rocky stream is beside the road all the way up. there’s a trout hatchery near the top. great trout fishing all the way down. We take picnics.

You really need to come on out to the Pacific Northwest!!!! Some of biggest, ‘right on the road’ waterfalls are in the Pacific Northwest..
Beautiful, awe inspiring, Multnomah Falls is only 30.5 miles east of the Portland (OR) Airport – PDX. It’s on I 84. You don’t need to leave your car if you don’t want to (they do have rest rooms if you need a pit stop 🙂 For an added treat, just look at the other side of I 84 and you’ll see the gorgeous majestic Columbia River (border between Oregon and Washington) on it’s trip to the Pacific Ocean.

You should also include Gooseberry Falls in Minnesota on the North Shore!!! It’s as scenic as any others you mentioned!!!!
