Cape Cod

This wonderful geographic cape extends into the Atlantic Ocean from the southeastern corner of mainland Massachusetts and offers drivers a 57 mile (91kilometres) visual and historic feast for the eyes, especially the scenic Route 6a.

And it doesn’t stop there as from Sandwich through to Brewster, you get to experience the wonder of the dune-lands and the charming historic villages on this American road trip destination that go back to the very early days of our nation as the earliest ones were established in 1639.

And while you’re heading to Orleans, make sure you take in the stunning beaches before you get to take in the majesty of the oak and pine forest and freshwater ponds that the Nickerson State Park has to offer.

Great article but could you mention the state(s) that the following roadtrips cover?
    1) Historic Columbia River Highway, 2) Red Rock country

My daughter and grand daughter just drove back and forth across RED ROCK COUNTRY. FROM THE GRAND CANYON TO SEDONA TO WINSLOW( stood on the corner with statues singing “Standing on the corner in Winslow Az “ ) and back to Flagstaff.

Took my first trip on Rt 66 in 1961 as we moved from Pennsylvania to Los Angeles. I am planning on another trip this coming year. I look forward to the painted desert and the petrified forest, I still have Glacier Part in Montana to traverse. Why go overseas?

I’m interested in taking my granddaughter thru the Outer Banks beginning May 18th or 19th 2025 for 3-4nights/days & after returning inland, heading to see Bald Head Island, NC for 1-2 nights/days. She is on a spring break from MUSC & is to be back to school in Charleston for class the last week of May. I prefer to be back in SC before the big rush of Memorial Day w/e. Any suggestions of places to stay like air b & b’s or similar?
