Yes Beaufort is a Lovely community, but as far as being it of a film goes you forgot “The Great Santini”, “The Big Chill” and Portions of “The Prince of Tides.”
Have visited Galena numerous times over the years, they have a small town vibe with many boutique shops. The grant hotel is a great place to stay right downtown galena. You can travel out towards Dubuque, Iowa where the field of dreams movie location and now a Major League Baseball outing once a year. Travel towards ballroom Iowa for brightbacks home cooking tavern. The oldest tavern in Iowa. All within an hour of Galena. Highly recommended.
