Velassaru Maldives

A lavish option for that much-needed respite

Profile

Integrating minimalist chic with comfortable natural elegance of a private hideaway is the core of Velassaru Resort. This lavish resort will immerse you into the local culture, underwater explorations and tropical marine world with simple yet delightful indulgence and activities. Let your spirit run free and your mind lose as you enjoy soothing vistas across the spectacular turquoise lagoon at sunset or simply stroll down the white beach filled with gentle sands leading you to the water’s edge.

The resort also offers various excursions and tours to Male, a city filled with a myriad of bright colours at every turn. The bustling capital of Male is a must-see for those looking to experience the rich history and culture of the Maldives. Sounds of the city create an intriguing rhythm, whilst fragrances and cultural sights intoxicate. Craft exotic memories to take back home or simply grab a memorabilia or two from the local markets.

Room

Steps away from the shoreline are the Deluxe Bungalows, a haven of stylish design accompanied with colourful accents and a luxurious garden bathroom with refreshing rain shower. If you prefer an intimate living space, go for the Water Bungalows with pool, furnished with modern interiors of earthy tones and floor-to-ceiling folding glass doors to allow light into the room and serene views of the crystal-clear lagoon. A personal home theatre system offers various diversions for you to pass time. The ultimate indulgence, the Water Suite covering a floor area of 270sqm is an impressive sanctuary that rises above the crystal waters. Its bright interiors open out to a private sundeck leading down to the brilliant blue lagoon, while luxurious bathroom amenities are added to your comfort.

Villa, the only available on the island. A perfect hideaway set amongst sophisticated verdant surroundings, we were pampered with a private oversized plunge pool and personal butler service, private bar and a home theatre system to catch a romantic chick flick or two.

Dine at any one of the five enticing dining venues or chill within the two innovative bars. Each has its unique personality, exuding chic and understated style. Turquoise serves up integrated international cuisine where you get a taste of continental dishes fused with Asian style. Etesian brings you on a journey of refined Mediterranean dishes in an elegant and modern restaurant setting. Vela provides an international buffet spread with cookin stations abundant with an array of tantalizing flavours.

Our dinner at Sand, an oceanfront food theatre with a dramatic panoramic view of the sea, was truly a treat, an elegant affair that we enjoyed with our feet in the sand and our eyes on the stars. Diners can indulge in the culinary arts from the hot stone grill or simply pick any dish from the chefs signature menu.

Spavelassaru-maldives-spa

Enveloped within the endless views of the Maldivian seascape, rejuvenate your weary self at The Spa. Treatments are being done at overwater pavilions set on stilts, and together with the indigenous ingredients used and an expert touch, travellers will be feeling invigorated in no time. Choose between a 60- or 90-minute massage where the therapist combines traditional Balinese methods with varying pressures that focus on specific areas of concern on your body for total rejuvenation.
