Warm Weather: Miami
This “best US place” is where a mix of different cultures and travelers mingle. Here, everyone can enjoy the renowned shores of “America’s Riviera.” Go to North Miami Beach to find the family-friendly beaches and the most affordable hotels and restaurants. And less than 10 miles away are the galleries, museums, and theaters of Greater Miami. But let’s not forget about South Beach.
This famous southern neighborhood proves that Miami Beach is more like two cities, a family-friendly getaway when the sun is up and a super-chic metropolis come nighttime. More laid-back travelers can relax along the sands of Haulover Park or Lummus Park and learn about architecture on an art deco tour or even try their hand at fishing off of the South Pointe Pier.
Cold Weather: New York
Each May, you’ll find over 4,500 Navy sailors, Coast Guardsmen, and women, and Marines docked in the harbors of lower Manhattan for seven days to experience lots of events taking place in their honor. This is all in addition to New York City’s normally action-packed lineup. It all starts with the Parade of Ships, a must-see sight to see as tall ships, warships, and historic military vessels cruise along the Hudson River.
Afterward, head over to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, where movie screenings and educational exhibits are displayed all week long. But of course, this is all just in addition to all the other great adventures you can find in the Big Apple, which already makes this city a “best US place”!
