Cooler Than Your Average Boutique Hotels

July 8, 2016 · Travel

Today, the world is flooded with urban, tech-savvy, stylish globetrotters looking for a new kind of hospitality that’s hip, unique and luxe. Ovolo Hotels, a breed of boutique hotels, is your new go-to address in Hong Kong and Australia

Far from cookie-cutter options, Ovolo Hotels, the independent lifestyle hotel brand from Hong Kong, is bold, innovative and art-driven, offering the most unique experiences for the millennial traveller. Founded by Girish Jhunjhnuwala, a convention-challenging visionary, the Ovolo Group provides business and leisure guests the best in effortless living and technology-led travel. And now, with the chic transformation of two signature, heritage-listed properties in Woolloomooloo and Darling Harbour, Ovolo Hotels comes to Sydney for the very first time.

Ovolo Woolloomooloo

Ovolo Woolloomooloo Reception

Just like the Woolloomooloo wharf’s rich history contrasts with the contemporary city, the hotel juxtaposes old and new, light and dark, coastal and urban in an inimitable way. As the wharf celebrates its 100th birthday, the hotel brand has Ovolo-ised the vast echoing space into an inviting laneway filled with surprises around every corner. Retaining the old-school character of the building, the 100 guest rooms have been reimagined with design elements that signify the brand’s aesthetic. Furthering the brand’s commitment to investing in talent, Ovolo has partnered with the government initiative Artbank to display a collection of indigenous and non- indigenous Australian artworks throughout the property.

Ovolo 1888 Darling Harbour

Tastefully restored, the 90-bedroom boutique hotel, Ovolo 1888 Darling Harbour, elegantly brings together Sydney’s old-world charm and contemporary design with Ovolo’s mind-blowing experience of modern hospitality. The rooms feature 3-metre high ceilings, exposed brick walls, original ironbark beams, concealed uplighting, huge sound proofed period windows, recycled timber work stations, bespoke furniture and colourful commissioned pieces by celebrated local artist, Jasper Knight.

The Ovolo Way Of Life

From cool, quirky designed lofts for solo travellers to rooftop rooms with patios, and everything in between – when you stay at an Ovolo Hotel, rest assured there is something for everyone. Not to mention, a menu of signature services. From a free mini-bar to Wi-Fi for multiple devices with no download limits, from a daily happy hour to a 24-hour gym, and an Apple TV in each room, the all-inclusive amenities approach of the brand truly sets it apart from the rest. Additionally, every Ovolo property houses Lo Lounge, a multipurpose social area designed for hotel guests to work, network or simply kick back, relax and socialise with like-minded global travellers.
