Lake Hillier is unmistakably pink. Located on Middle Island off Western Australia, this bubblegum-colored lake contrasts sharply with the deep blue ocean nearby.
The vivid hue is believed to result from algae and bacteria that thrive in the lake’s saline environment.
From above, it looks almost artificial. Up close, it feels like nature’s playful experiment in color.
