The bluebonnet is this state’s official state flower, and if you happen to be in the Texas Hill Country during the months of March and April, you’ll understand why.
This colorful destination comes alive in the springtime with delicate white and bluebells, making for a downright magical drive through the Lone Star State. These blooms are so stunning and popular that they have their own Facebook pages.
But before you take off, I recommend reaching out to the Texas Department of Transportation Wildflower Hotline to find out where and when exactly the flowers are expected to hit their peak.
Havasu Falls, Grand Canyon, Arizona
Arizona may be our country’s most colorful state, with the breathtaking Havasu Falls surging within the Grand Canyon.
The waterfall itself has an approximately 100-foot drop, spouting down into a stunning pool of bright blue water at the bottom of the falls. This colorful destination has become a very sought-after place for those camping in the nearby area on the Havasupai Indian Reservation.
Grand Prismatic Spring, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
One of many colorful destinations worth visiting in Wyoming, Grand Prismatic Spring is considered the most photographed spot within Yellowstone National Park.
Loaded with scalding hot water, this spring is deeper than a 10-story structure! Made up of electrifying yellow, green, and orange shades, this is one of the most colorful draws in the United States.
Paint Mines, El Paso County, Colorado
In Calhan, the Paint Mines Interpretive Park is home to a stunning ecological system.
A historical, colorful destination that’s impressive to see in person, El Paso County’s Paint Mines are made up of hundreds of acres of the park and feature beautiful hiking trails that will give you a remarkable view of these multicolored natural wonders.
The street art of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Philadelphia is home to more than 3,500 different murals of all shapes, sizes, and colors due to the many efforts of the community street art program Mural Arts throughout the last couple of decades.

Tulip farms are a perennial favorite for nature lovers and color enthusiasts alike. Their happy blooms are big and bright, signifying spring’s arrival, creating waves of color when planted side by side.
But you’re in for a real treat if you head over to Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Woodburn. It’s one of the biggest tulip farms in the Northwest. You’ll get to witness acres upon acres of land bursting with color during the annual tulip festival, which takes place from the end of March to the beginning of May.
