Advertiser Disclosure

Must See Places is free to read and is funded by advertising. This page explains what that means and where the money comes from.

How we earn

Our revenue comes from display advertising — the banner and in-article units you see on the site. These are served by third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense and other programmatic partners. The advertisers whose creatives appear are selected by those networks through automated auctions, not chosen by us.

We do not sell sponsored articles, paid placements in round-ups, or paid inclusion of any destination, hotel, tour operator or attraction. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be labelled as such on the article itself.

Affiliate links

Where an article contains an affiliate link — a link that would earn us a commission if you booked or bought through it — that will be disclosed on the article. We do not add affiliate links to a round-up in exchange for a place in it, and a commission never determines whether something is recommended or how it ranks.

What advertisers do not get

Advertisers have no say in what we cover, no sight of articles before publication, and no ability to have coverage changed or removed. Our editorial process is described in the Editorial Policy, and it does not include consulting anyone who has bought advertising.

Why the ads you see are the ones you see

Advertising on this site is delivered programmatically, so the creatives shown are targeted by the ad networks based on data collected under the consent choices you make when you arrive. What is collected and how you can change or withdraw those choices is set out in our Privacy Policy. If you are a California resident, you can also exercise your rights via Do not sell my personal information.

An advertisement appearing on Must See Places is not an endorsement by us of the advertiser, its products or its claims.
